UPDATE: Our summer camps are now full but we still have availability in our evening and weekend lessons. We currently have openings in our Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening classes at 7pm. Beginners welcome!
Due to the hot weather and vacation plans, the regular lesson schedule is suspended during the summer. Adults and interested students will be able to take nighttime lessons at our regular pricing ($90 Private, $50 Group). In the Standard Clinics and evening courses, we welcome new riders without any previous riding experience.
Standard Clinics
Provided in the mornings to benefit from the milder climate and to enable a more focused learning schedule. Students will spend the entire day on Wednesday during the week helping to prepare for a barbeque that will take place that evening and feature an open-fire dinner. The student will be in charge of maintaining their horse and equipment. Included are ground instruction, vaulting, mounted games, ring riding, and trail riding. There is an 8 rider maximum per group. No fluff, lots of riding time! Riders must be at least seven years old, even adults!
Assistant Instructor Clinic:
This is a teaching-training opportunity for older, more seasoned students who want to help out at our Standard Clinics. Candidates are evaluated while following the Certified Horsemanship Association curriculum, teaching classes to role-playing pupils. Within this certification programme, there are 4 levels.
Mountain Trail Week:
We will be providing a mountain trail riding session to ride at the Virginia Highlands Area, Moses Cone, Leatherwood, and New River Trail. Ride and camp in the colder mountain regions. meals served throughout the week. Three riders are allowed on this excursion, and they must be at least intermediate level.
Fees:
$350/rider for Standard and Assistant Instructor Clinics.
$850 for Mountain Trail week, meals included.
Schedule:
Standard Clinics – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Wednesday- the whole day.
Assistant Instructor Clinic – 8:00AM to 3:00 PM.
